KSU volleyball receives academic honors
he Kansas State University volleyball team received academic honors for the 12th straight year/ _e Wildcats received the USMC/ AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 academic year. _e honor — which is given to programs with a team grade-point average of 3.30 or higher during the academic year — is the 20th in K-State volleyball history.
KU’s Neal on Doak Walker watch list
University of Kansas running back Devin Neal has been named a preseason candidate for the 2022 Doak Walker Award. _e rising sophomore burst onto the scene last year as a true freshman with 707 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 158 carries, averaging 4.2 yards per carry in his debut season.
Transfers dot OU women’s basketball team
_e Ottawa University women’s basketball team is making a bid to improve its standing in the KCAC by adding several transfers. Two of the latest roster additions are Maria Moore, Mandan, North Dakota, transfer from Dakota College of Bottineau, and Ahoneste Walker,Edmond,Oklahoma, a transfer from Seminole State College.
OU spikers earn KCAC favorite tag
The Ottawa University volleyball team has owned the KCAC the past eight seasons under coach Melissa Blessington. The Ottawa coach sports a 128-14 KCAC mark as she enters her ninth season and an overall record of 220-86.
KU baseball fills out coaching staff
University of Kansas head baseball coach Dan Fitzgerald filled his coaching staff, assembling an experienced group with deep recruiting ties specifically to the Midwest and the larger national landscape. All four assistant coaches served as recruiting coordinators for Division I baseball programs as well as coaching stints at the Junior College level.
