The Central Heights Track and Field team had a banner 2023 season and built off that momentum in this fall’s cross country campaign.The boys track team had several high finishes at the state meet last year with those athletes coming back in 2024.
The Ottawa High School baseball team is a driven, talented and experienced team.The Cyclones fell short of gaining a state berth last year after finishing fourth in 4A two years ago.
The Ottawa High School girls soccer team will have a different look all across the field.The Cyclones graduated 11 players last season and return about six player with varsity experience.“We have a lot of new [players] because we replace an entire team,” Ottawa coach Brianna Poe said.
The Ottawa High School boys golf team could be one of the best in a few seasons.Ottawa returns four varsity golfers with experience and talent.
The West Franklin softball team will mix five returners with several young and new players this season.The Falcons return five players, of which three were all-league selections from last season’s 14-7 team.
The Central Heights has a deep baseball tradition.
The Wellsville boys track team had quite a season a year ago and looks to stay at that level in 2024.Eagles coach Tim Savage, who begins his 11th season as head coach and 33rd overall, expects the returners to compete at a high level again.“We lost a number of seniors last year but brought back a lot of experienced and successful competitors at the league, regional, and state levels,” he said.
Everything is new for the Central Heights softball team.
The West Franklin track teams have high hopes for the 2024 season.
