The American Legion Boys State of Kansas is hosting it’s annual week-long event, this summer June 1-7, for it’s Kansas Boys State program which offers a promising look at some activities of government. It will be at Kansas State University in Manhattan.
The Franklin County commissioners voted to retain the Ottawa Herald as the official county newspaper during a organizational meeting. They also determined the boards the commissioners will sit on, made elections of chairperson and vice chairperson of the commission, swore in officers of the county and set the date and times for meetings for this year.
Bilee Jo Grable will be the new principal for Garfield Elementary in School District USD 290. Mrs. Grable will start with the in the fall for the new school year.
