WAVERLY-Floyd L. Howard, Sr., 93, formerly of Ottawa, passed away, Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his daughter’s home in Waverly.

Floyd was born July 4, 1929 in Missouri, the son of Cecil and Mary (Thorington) Howard. He was joined in marriage to Edna Wilson on November 20, 1948 in Kansas. To this union five children were born Florence, Debbie, Elizabeth, Donna and Floyd, Jr.

Ḟloyd worked a heavy equipment operator. He had a passion for music and fishing. Floyd was known to pull out a guitar or harmonica to play.

He will be forever remembered by his three daughters; Florence Star of Waverly, Elizabeth Ward of Bucklin and Donna Turner of Emporia; his son, Floyd L. Howard, Jr. of Burlington; a sister, Florence Shirely of Shawnee, Kansas; seventeen great and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.
