Meet Faith, the nutrition coordinator for the Mid-America Nutrition Program, also known as Meals on Wheels. Congratulations to Faith and her van drivers – Charlie, Laurie, William, Robert, Darrin and Shela – who were nominated by Tracy Crosby as this week’s unsung heroes. Each week, Monday through Friday, they deliver meals to distribution sites in Anderson, Coffey, Franklin, Linn, Miami and Osage counties, where volunteers deliver an estimated 725 meals per day to homes and apartments. Faith has been in her current role for a little more than a year, after leaving Kalmar to help seniors. Anyone interested in helping our seniors by volunteering as a regular or substitute local Meals on Wheels driver,can contact Faith and she will get you started!
