OTTAWA – Wayne L. Knight, 75, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Advent Health Shawnee Mission. He was born on April 3, 1946 in Bradford, Kansas, the son of Bill and Anna May (Newton) Knight.
Wayne attended #10 School on Buttermilk Lane, southwest of Harveyville, Kansas. He graduated from Harveyville High School in 1964.
Wayne worked as an Industrial Electrician with Boise Hilburn Electric and ECKC Electric. He loved riding motorcycles, camping and at one time he even owned his own airplane. He loved being with his family and friends.
On August 25, 1967, Wayne was united in marriage to the love of his life, Thelma Greeve. They were married for over 51 years and were the proud parents of three sons, Wayne, Jr., Matthew J. and William T.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; his son, Matthew; and by his parents, Bill and Anna May.
Wayne is survived by his two sons, Wayne Knight and family and Bill Knight and family; his daughter-in-law, Penny Knight; his brother, Ken “Lucky” Knight; his two sisters, Linda Woodyard and family and Sharron Spurrier and family; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; other family and friends.
Funeral services for Wayne will be at 2:00pm on Friday, January 21 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Burlingame Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time Friday. Memorial contributions for Wayne may be made to the American Lung Association, sent in care of the funeral home.
